Legal Focus: I-9 Compliance and Best Practices
For most employers, the I-9 form is one of many documents that are given to a new-hire at the start of employment. After the form is completed, it is not uncommon to stick the form in the employee’s personnel file and never touch it again. However, there are some circumstances in which an I-9 must be located and updated, or even reviewed as part of an audit.
